Medical Lab Tech
Department:  Lab St John Tulsa
Schedule: 40 hours weekly, Full Time Day 
6am to 2:30 pm. Rotating weekends and holidays
Location: RML Tulsa, Ok.

Join our family of dedicated, highly skilled Medical Lab Tech’s! We are offering eligible positions that qualify for a referral or relocation bonus, up to $5,000 for experienced Medical Lab Tech per guidelines

Regional Medical Laboratory Inc. (RML), part of St. John Health System, is a nationally-renowned commercial reference laboratory that provides testing services for physicians and hospitals within a four-state region and performs more than 9 million procedures each year.  RML provides services for multiple hospitals in the Oklahoma region and several satellite locations in Tulsa, northeastern and central Oklahoma and southeastern Kansas.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with St John Health System, you will have the opportunity to

Performs routine diagnostic/analytic testing of laboratory specimens, and interprets, documents and reports test results under the supervision of a medical technologist/medical laboratory scientist.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements, validates, and reports laboratory test results.
  • Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Conducts quality control and quality assurance testings.
  • Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
  • Assists with data collection or special projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of the policies and procedures for patient preparation, sample requirements, specimen collection, and pre-analytical factors that affect sample quality.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring of staff and students.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • One or more of the following:
      • Clinical Laboratory Technician obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Laboratory Tech credentialed from the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Work Experience:

  • None required.
  • 1 Year of experience preferred.
