Mammography Technician

Jane Phillips Medical Center is seeking a Full-time Mammography Technician. In this role, you will be a part of a team that provides an extraordinary level of professionalism and comfort to those patients with Mammography related procedures
Jane Phillips Medical Center offers a complete range of services, including general medicine, surgery, cardiopulmonary care, maternal and infant care, cancer treatment, wound care, behavioral services, emergency care, geriatric care, orthopedics, and physical medicine.  We are proud to be the owner of new technology-based equipment; Hologic 3D Machine used in treating patients for various mammography related procedures.
You make a tremendous difference in the lives of the patients you treat. Acting as an educator, consultant, and administrator you will play a pivotal role in the guidance of optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Key Competencies for Success:
  • Ability to provide consultative services for all patients in the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health. 
  • Ability to collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary teams.
Schedule: Daytime hours: 8 am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

Required Credentials:
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
  • One or more of the following:
    • Cardio graphic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).  
    • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).  
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate degree, or Technical degree required
Work Experience:
  • Previous Mammography experience strongly preferred
