THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION ARE...

  • A Radiology license through the ARRT + (MR) registry
  • A Texas Medical Board license
  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of exerience, or Associate's Degree, or Technical Degree
  • A BLS credential through the American Heart Association
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL...

  • Supervise & train other MRI Techs within Dell Children's Heart Program.
  • Work along side one of the world’s leading pediatric heart surgeons, Charles Fraser, Jr., M.D.
  • Determine, coordinate and supervise daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.
  • Train, coache, and evaluate assigned staff on performance expectations. 
  • Provide input for hiring and termination procedures.
  • Coordinate patient care with other members of the team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes.
  • Assist with quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • May perform the duties of a technologist as department staffing levels require. 
  • Create work schedules to ensure all areas of diagnostic imaging are covered 24/7.
  • Perform diagnostics of system when performance is degraded, system has failed, or end user has encountered difficulty in using the application.
  • Ensure that adequate supply levels are maintained. 
  • Perform quarterly audits of all supply closets to review stock vs. workload. 
  • Make any changes to supply levels if necessary.

One of the world’s leading pediatric heart surgeons, Charles Fraser, Jr., M.D., is now head of faculty of the Dell Medical School at UT Austin as professor in the Departments of Surgery and Perioperative Care and Pediatrics.  Fraser plays a leading role in building the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a focused pediatric and congenital heart program that leverages the power of the partnership between Dell Medical School, the greater University of Texas community, and Dell Children’s, part of Ascension.
