What You Will Do

Ascension St. John Hospital is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Academic - Pediatric Surgeon for our Pediatric Department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. John Hospital to care for our pediatric patients.

Position Highlights:

  • NACHRI designated children's hospital and Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Center
  • 40-bed inpatient pediatric unit, 11-bed pediatric ambulatory surgery unit and pediatric burn care
  • 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and 35-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery
  • Pediatric Children's Center with 50,000 visits annually 
  • Pediatric Emergency Center with 17,000 visits annually 
  • Pediatric Surgery Outpatient Clinic with 1,200 visits annually
  • Baby-Friendly hospital designation for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding

What You Will Need


Required Credential(s):

  • Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Preferred Credential(s):

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery


  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Work Experience:

  • Demonstrated track record of clinical research activity and teaching
