APRN or Physician Assistant with Trauma and General Surgery - Full-Time, Night - Seton Medical Center Hays - Kyle,TX

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Seton Family of Hospitals, TX, you will have the opportunity to provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. You will be scheduled for three 12hour night shifts/week.  You will work closely with the Trauma Surgeons on call.  You will be responding to trauma activations, consults and first-assisting in the operating room.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What You Will Need

APRNs MUST have already obtained their acute care certification upon applying for this position.

We are not accepting FNP certifications.

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .  
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .  
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). 
    • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration. 

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years trauma/acute care surgery experience strongly preferred
  • Operating room experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Will be required to obtain ATLS within 6 months
  • Competitive CME stipend and CME days
  • APRNs MUST have already obtained their acute care certification upon applying for this position; we are unable to accept FNP certifications.
