Family medicine, a type of primary care, provides ongoing healthcare for patients of all ages. Family medicine providers help their patients stay healthy in body, mind and spirit; they diagnose and treat most illnesses and refer patients to qualified specialists as needed.
At Ascension, we understand that caring for the full health and well-being of your family begins with knowing all of you, so our doctors and caregivers take the time to learn about you and your health histories. They work continually to customize care to your specific needs, and to collaborate with you on the healthcare decisions that affect you and your family.
Our full range of care services for your whole family includes annual physical exams, health screenings and vaccinations, illness or injury diagnosis and treatment, nutrition, family counseling, aging and more.
Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
High school diploma/GED from an accredited institution
1 or more years of relevant work experience in the health care field
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Medical Assistant Certification (Nat'l Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). NCCT, AAMA, AMCA or AMT are acceptable certification sites. Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) certification and current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator, preferred.)
