Come Join St. Vincent’s as a Registered Nurse in our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
PRN Night Shift - One year of experience is required. Our schedule requires a minimum of 48 hours per six-week schedule with 12 of those hours being a weekend shift
Cardiac ICU (CICU) is a private 12- bed unit that specializes in critical cardiac care for patients. You will see extensive hemodynamic monitoring, use of continuous bedside dialysis (CRRT), cardiac assist devices (IABP, impella, external pace makers) and frequent use of vasoactive medications. We also receive and care for TAVR patients. CICU specializes in Induced Hypothermia care for cardiac patients. You will be trained to initiate, maintain, and recover these patients.
On CICU, you will be trained to detect medical issues before they become a problem, so that you can respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently. Our average nurse to patient ratio is 2:1 with some patients requiring 1:1 care such as our hypothermia patients. Our beds are normally full and our staff is very rarely cancelled.
Here at St. Vincent’s East, you will be joining a motivated, energetic staff and will be introduced to a team environment.
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
