What You Will Do:
As a Respiratory Therapist with Ascension, St John Health System, you will have the opportunity to provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
What It Takes:
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional letter will be accepted until license is issued.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist.
- Advanced Life Support
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
*Eligibility for Bonus: Must have both 2 years critical care experience and credentialed for 2 years to be eligible for sign on bonus. 2-year work commitment required.
