Why Join Ascension?

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin (ASMCA) originated in Austin in 1902, after a group of citizens asked the Daughters of Charity to build a hospital to care for the sick. This 40-bed hospital, originally the Seton Infirmary, would eventually lead to the building of Seton Medical Center in 1975.

Located in Central Texas, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin is a leading medical and surgical acute care center and heart transplant surgery program.

Ascension is a faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care. As one of the leading non-profit and Catholic health systems in the U.S., Ascension is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to all, especially to those most in need. In FY2018, Ascension provided nearly $2 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs.
