Diabetes Educator - Dietitian –
Primary Care Owasso
Full-Time: 8 am – 5pm
Days: Monday - Friday
As an Associate with St John Health System, you will have the opportunity to educate patients, healthcare workers and the community about controlling diabetes through nutritional management.
Coordinates with designated staff to effectively integrate medical nutrition therapy into the overall management of diabetes.
Provides diabetes education for patients, healthcare workers and the community.
Encourages the diabetes team to support and reinforce nutrition prescriptions and to help patients manage their meal plans.
Supervises the planned education process for the goals of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes. Reinforces diabetes education and instruction to the staff and implements and monitors educational plan of care.
Coordinates with healthcare providers including receiving and writing orders to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Educator specializing in Diabetes Management.
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Work Experience Preferred/Certifications preferred:
Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Licensed Dietitian with Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure
