What You Will Do

The Coordinator, Media Planning and Buying, will work collaboratively with the Media team and account strategy to develop media strategy, implement plans, and track and analyze response of media plans/buys. Understand target audiences and marketing needs, identify media tactics that will deliver measurable results, and assist in development of media plans. Form relationships with media outlets, gain knowledge and understanding of specific offerings. Maintain understanding of opportunities in specific markets and overall media environment. Create and maintain flowcharts information. Collaborate with Billing Team to address discrepancies as necessary to ensure timely payment of media vendors.

The individual will develop and foster relationships internally and among the organization’s markets and represents Ascension with external media partners. The specialist will ensure work aligns to Ascension’s Marketing and Communications goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and negotiation of Media across markets for all paid media initiatives, including, TV, Radio, Print, OOH and Online
  • Work with Specialists to issue and confirm order, address discrepancies, secure credits/makegood and research market nuances
  • Assist in the upload, tagging and issuing of online creative through Campaign Manager and/or AdWords
  • Pull and prepare reports for leadership regarding status of projects and campaign delivery
  • Monitor Media trends and competitive activity across markets, assisting in building market reports to share with local teams
  • Maintain relationships with media outlets to obtain information, request media kits and specific rates, obtain various other industry-specific information, and participate in meetings as necessary
  • Gain understanding of patient attitudes and behaviors
  • Strong attention to detail for budget tracking
  • Assist in research for media planning including industry articles, syndicated data, digital analytics
  • Develop understanding of geographical location of Ascension ministries
  • Gain knowledge of tools widely uses for media purchasing, planning and trafficking
  • Collaborate with various Ascension Marketing and Communications Centers of Excellence (Public Relations, Digital, Strategy, Brand)
  • Coordinates and/or leads project tasks as assigned.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • It is desirable that the successful candidate have a Bachelor degree in marketing and/or communications and work experience related to Media Planning and Buying.

Experience:

  • One year of experience is preferred, but not required
  • Agency experience across multiple media channels is favorable, but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel pivot tables and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, organized and accurate
  • Professional, positive, team-player attitude
  • Self-starter, works independently without constant supervision and establishes personal credibility
  • Effective communicator, cable of gaining the confidence and respect of peers and leadership
