The Medical/Surgical unit provides care for patients receiving general medical care, surgical intervention, or skilled nursing services such as intravenous antibiotics, wound care, and therapy as an inpatient. If you are looking for a smaller team, then look no further! Forty associates team together to provide care for the patients in the medical/surgical unit. Every Medical/Surgical associate works cohesively with the interdisciplinary team members to help each patient achieve their goals before their discharge date. What You Will Do
As an Associate with St John Health System, you will have the opportunity to facilitate safe and efficient care to our patients in our general medical surgical, surgical intervention and skill nursing department. As a valuable member of our team, your expertise in the theory and application of nursing techniques and your combined knowledge of human anatomy, and implementation tools and technologies are used to facilitate a successful patient experience.
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing .
- Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
- Minimum of 6 months RN experience required for PRN
