Technician-PCT, Patient Care - Stepdown Intermediate Care 001 - Full-Time,Night - Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi Campus
Unit Description: 19 all-private-bed cardiac care unit with a primary diagnosis of CHF, chest pain, hypertensive urgency, and other cardiac issues utilizing state-of-the-art telemetry monitoring. We are able to take patients who have basic drips such as Cardizem, dopamine nitroglycerin, insulin and heparin. This unit may also take patients who are mechanically ventilated or Bi-pap mask dependent. This unit has an average nurse to patient ratio of 4:1 due to the acuity level of its patients.
Scheduled Hours: This associate will work three 12 hour shifts per week starting at 7:00PM. This will include rotating weekends and holidays.

What You Will Do
As an Associate with Ascension St. John Health-MI, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in assigned area.
Responsibilities:
- Aids with entry and exit of patients.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
- Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
Education:
- Diploma
- High school diploma or GED required
