What You Will Do
This specific opening is part of the Medical Oncology Team that serves patients at our Cancer Institute.
In this role, you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Patient to Nurse Ratio: 4 to 6 patients per RN.
Patients will be receiving chemotherapy, injections, pump disconnects and blood transfusions.
The department has 20 patient chairs and 2 private rooms.
What You Will Need
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
Drivers License credentialed from the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles.
One year of experience in Medical Oncology
