M-F 8-5, Position will require travel between locations at Ascension Seton Northwest, Ascension Seton Hays and Ascension Seton Williamson

What You Will Do

As a Director of Volunteer Services at Ascension Seton, you have the opportunity to manage robust hospital volunteer programs at Ascension Seton Northwest, Ascension Seton Hays and Ascension Seton Williamson. Ascension Seton Volunteers are passionate individuals with servant hearts who are vital to our mission.  You are responsible for all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers, including but not limited to marketing, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding. You have the unique opportunity to work with hospital leadership to determine the volunteer needs of the hospital to support hospital associates and deliver a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple hospital volunteer programs including recruitment and onboarding efforts for all programs (adults and students).
  • Manages all aspects of external volunteer partnerships (i.e., pet therapy) to ensure compliance with hospital policies, processes and standards
  • Coordinates planning, communication, logistics, and execution of all volunteer orientations
  • Facilitates all aspects of volunteers onboarding and training experience, including pre-and post onboarding health and safety screenings
  • Manages volunteer placements as needed by departments
  • Coordinates planning, communication, logistics, and execution of all department events such as Volunteer Appreciation Week and Holiday events including budgetary planning
  • Responsible for reporting on team volunteer impact goals and statistics quarterly
  • Champions volunteer program with associates in an effort to elevate program awareness and support departmental engagement. Cultivates relationships and positive rapport with hospital associates and leadership.
  • Supports positive volunteer engagement and volunteer retention through relationship building, rounding, written communications (newsletter articles, flyers, invitations, emails etc.) and verbal communications.
  • Works collectively with other ministry Directors of Volunteer Services to ensure program consistency and efficiency where possible
  • Collects and analyzes volunteer utilization data demonstrating measured impact, increased patient satisfaction scores, lowered readmission rates and increased organizational focus on patient and family centered care.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business, education, public relations, or related field required. Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience in Public Relations, Communications or Human Services in a health-related field preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2 years of leadership or management experience
