What You Will Do

What could be more rewarding than saving the life of another human being? At Sacred Heart Hospital, in Pensacola, FL, as our Surgical Technologist, you are a crucial part of the operating team. You will work alongside surgeons and nurses in the operating room ensuring that the patient is prepared for surgery and each piece of equipment is sterilized and working perfectly.

Additionally, you will facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What You Will Need

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Preferred Credential(s):

• Certified Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). 

Education:

Diploma 

• High School Diploma
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program required.
• Successful completion of a hospital Surgical Technology training program with two years of experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

Work Experience:

• 3 Years Preferred Technical Experience.
