Technician - Endoscopic - Endoscopy GI 001 - FT, Day - St Mary's Hospital - Amsterdam, NY

Monday through Friday, rotating shifts:  6:30a.m. - 3p.m.; 7a.m - 3:30 p.m.; 7:30a.m. - 4p.m., & 8a.m. - 4:30p.m.
No scheduled weekends or holidays.
Call availability required for position - once oriented, every 8th weekend and occasional weekday evening/night call.

This position is eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus

What You Will Do

As an Endoscopy Tech with St. Mary's Hospital, you will have the opportunity to support endoscopic procedures by preparing the equipment, field and managing specimens.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, appropriately positioning patient and cleaning/shaving/numbing testing sites as appropriate.
  • Interprets, describes and reports test results. Recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately.
  • Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
  • Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 

Education & Work Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
  • None required.
