Title: Family Resource Specialist
Location: St Vincent's Birmingham, Birmingham, AL
Department: Women’s Health Administration
Additional Job Details: PRN, Days, Evenings and Weekend hours, no holidays. Will be expected to be available to teach a wide variety of classes at varying times and attend department events related to marketing and community education.
What You Will Do:
As a Family Resource Specialist with St. Vincent's Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to serve as a liaison and resource for the families as well as plan and implement perinatal and family education classes.
Completes lesson plans for assigned family/community education classes using evidence based practice.
Communicates effectively with family/community class attendees to ensure class content is understood.
Assists with determining family/community educational needs by participating in appropriate committee meetings and communication with leaders.
Obtains feedback from class participants and refines teaching techniques based on their input.
Participates in opportunities that support family/community education programs.
What You Will Need:
3 years of experience caring for patients in at least one area of perinatal/neonatal nursing
Current or prior experience in perinatal/neonatal nursing at St. Vincent’s
Prior experience in formal patient education setting teaching classes to patients and families
Experience using computer technology and software
