Operating Room Nurse – PRN as needed. Hours are 6:30a to 4p (hours could vary depending on the case load). Monday through Friday shifts. No on call, no weekends, no holidays. 3 shifts per month required. This position will be crossed trained in Same-Day and PACU areas in addition to the OR. One-year of experience is required.
St. Vincent’s Chilton has 3 OR’s and 2 GI procedure Rooms. 10 Preoperative beds and 10 Recovery beds. Our average case load is 225 a month and can range from Young adults to Geriatrics.

What you will do:
Key responsibilities are but not limited to:
Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure.
Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of the patient before, during and after the procedure.
Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
