Schedule: Monday - Friday half days (part time) with occasional outside events to attend.

Location: Capital Plaza-Children's Comprehensive Care

What You Will Do

As a Child Life Assistant with Seton Family of Hospitals-TX, you will have the opportunity to provide a safe environment for a group of children. In this role, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic activities and developmentally appropriate play to our patients and siblings while they are at our clinic. This includes time in the play area of the waiting room, the child life room, and the patient rooms. You are also responsible for cleaning toys and play environment to ensure proper infection control. The Child Life Assistant will support special events like our family night and camp for siblings as well as help with organization and ordering of toys and supplies. We are a great team, with collaboration with larger medical team, wonderful children and families to serve, lots of great learning around psychosocial support and the child life profession/working with children with special needs.


  • Implements age-appropriate activities.
  • Interacts with children appropriately.
  • Ensures for the physical care and safety of members of the group. Follows all related policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current and accurate records.

What You Will Need


  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • Preferred-Spanish speaking
  • Experience working with children with special needs or in a medical setting
  • Experience working in the professional field of Child Life
  • Experience or education in child development or special education
  • Experience providing play and activities to children with different disabilities and special needs.
  • None required
