We Are Hiring
Do you love working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting?
Would you prefer to be one on one with your patient versus juggling multiple patients during your shift?
Do you have prior experience working with patients who require constant supervision for their safety? (i.e. dementia, suicidal, fall risks)
Then this opportunity may be a good fit for you!
Why Join Ascension?
Saint Agnes Healthcare’s roots in Baltimore go all the way back to 1823. Our culture both then and now is based on a belief that ALL people deserve to be treated with dignity. For generations we have served the beautifully diverse community that is our home with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Today we offer a full range of services through our 254-bed, full-service teaching hospital, Saint Agnes Medical Group, Seton Imaging Center, and Saint Agnes Foundation.
As part of Ascension we are part of a bigger ministry to deliver compassionate personalized care to all, especially those most in need. Ascension is one of the leading non-profit health systems in the United States. In fiscal year 2018, Ascension provided nearly $2 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs.
What You Will Do
While patients are with us some require more supervision for their safety than others. For example, there are patients who are at risk of hurting themselves; those that have a diagnosis like dementia, right sided stroke, or others that may cause confusion; patients that are fall risks; and others who need someone there always for their safety. In these cases, in addition to our regular clinical team of Patient Care Technicians and Nurses we have a Certified Nursing Assistant assigned to be responsible for their care on a one on one basis.
This role is much more than just a companion or Patient Sitter as these CNAs provide for all the activities of daily living for the patient such as bathing, feeding, walking, and the like. Our regular clinical team still provides care such as taking vitals, finger-sticks, etc. but you are the one who is there with them constantly and therefore play a crucial role in their care.
This specific opening is on day shift (7A-7:30P) working three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend and holiday rotation. The position is benefit eligible so comes with Ascension’s comprehensive programs that protect your health, income and survivors, as well as secure your retirement and enrich your spirit.
