Ascension St. Clair is a private 6 bed Intensive Care Unit. Our ICU serves as an intermediate care unit. We are a Rural community hospital that is supported by our larger Birmingham facilities. We are limited to Acute Intermediate Care. All of our nurses are cross trained in our Med Surg in order to assist in other areas as needed. In our facility, you may have more facetime with our patients than any other professional in the hospital while also planning care, listening to patients’ concerns, and answering loved ones’ questions. This is a great role for someone who likes to learn from leadership who likes to mentor their team.
In the ICU, you will be trained to detect medical issues before they become a problem, so that you can respond to those emergent situations quickly and confidently. Our average nurse to patient ratio is 3:1 with some patients requiring 2:1 care. At St. Clair, you will be joining a motivated, energetic staff and will be introduced to a team environment.
