What You Will Do
As an Associate with Ascension System Office-MO, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead, direct, guide and assist on compliance matters for areas of responsibility related to the organization. Responsible on an enterprise-wide basis for supporting Chief Compliance Officer and managing key designated aspects of the compliance program.
Clinical & Regulatory Compliance Officer
Leads a centralized team to assist with clinical and regulatory matters across the organization overseeing clinical compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations (i.e., EMTALA, CLIA, 340B, scope of practice, etc.)
Possesses a strong acute care background with working knowledge of other healthcare service lines (e.g., laboratory, home health, hospice, etc.) and key related risk areas
Partners with Revenue Cycle Leadership on coding and billing inquiries and compliance concerns
Works closely with contracted revenue cycle vendor to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal and state laws
Provides direction on auditing and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulatory and accreditation standards (and any necessary corrective action plans)
Identifies and provides guidance regarding policy gaps or needed policy improvements
Provides direction and guidance concerning internally identified potential overpayments and closely collaborates with the Investigations & Incidents Compliance Officer to the extent any formal investigation is warranted
Provides compliance guidance for payor and reimbursement inquiries and concerns
Partners with legal counsel on allegations and inquiries regarding Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute allegations (potentially resulting in the submission of false claims)
Direct reports include, among others, Sr. Director of Physician Regulatory Compliance, Sr. Director of Post Acute and Ambulatory Compliance, and Director of Diversified Services (Non-Clinical)
Assists with training and educational needs to improve organizational awareness and understanding of applicable requirements
Collaborates with Ascension operational and clinical leadership on new payment models and clinical delivery systems as Ascension continues to diversify
Serves as a compliance thought leader attending operational meetings, as needed
