At St. Vincent Center for Children we provide comprehensive outpatient care. The Center for Children
was created to address the unmet healthcare needs of children in the region. It is a central resource
where parents and caregivers can get the answers they need more quickly, more clearly, more
accurately.

Our unique Pediatric Feeding Program offers a continuum of care to meet the needs of patients and
families and can treat children with minor issues to complex feeding disorders. A collaborative approach
by a team of specialists will determine the most appropriate treatment plan which may include regular
team follow up, outpatient therapy or intensive day therapy.

What You Will Do

As a Dietitian with St. Vincent, you will have the opportunity to provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.

Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with pediatric sub specialty providers to manage the nutritional care of medically complex patients. Including the nutritional management of enteral nutrition in gastrostomy tube care, IBD, Celiac Disease, FPIES, Fatty Liver, Diabetes, Food Allergies, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Dyslipidemia, CKD, Eating Disorders, among others. 
  • Assesses patients for nutritional status. Provides interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
  • Monitors tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary. Provides medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
  • Provides nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
  • Researches and takes initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) OR sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire. 

  • Indiana State Licensure obtained within 6 months of hire. 

  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). 
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). 
    • Educator specializing in Diabetes Management. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an ACEND-accredited program.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited internship program.

Work Experience:

  • Pediatrics experience required
