Join our team as the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor in our new Ascension Wisconsin Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.

As the Supervising RN of the Ascension Wisconsin Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, your responsibilities will include staffing when needed, managing day to day operations of the center, educating your team, maintaining regulatory compliance as indicated by Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC), building trusting relationships with staff and physicians, handling concerns related to operational flow, and evaluating customer and employee satisfaction. You will have the support of your Director and have the opportunity to work with up to 30 surgeons as well as managing a team of approximately 15 associates of which you will have oversight.

What You Will Do

As an associate with the Ascension Wisconsin Surgery Center - Mount Pleasant, you will have the opportunity to supervise, coordinate, and provide leadership while directing activities of clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff delivering quality patient care and ensuring implementation of clinical objectives in an assigned area.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments of clinical/non-clinical or an interdisciplinary team of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff, ensuring thatpopulation appropriate patient care is given.
  • In accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act, delegates appropriate duties to clinical/non-clinicalor interdisciplinary teams of licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff based on their assessed skills and abilities.
  • Gathers information from other members of the clinical/non-clinical or interdisciplinary team and uses this data to plan for the care of all patients on the unit for the shift.
  • Evaluates the care delivered by other licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff by providing direct and immediate feedback and coaching, ongoing verbal and written feedback to the clinical/non-clinical leader on the performance of staff and evaluating the performance trends under his/her direction and recommends and participates in corrective/disciplinary action as required.
  • Participates in the hiring process for new staff members assigned to the shift by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations to the clinical/non-clinical leader.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • One or more of the following:
      • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.  Licensure is dependent on state associate works in.
      • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in.

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required

Work Experience:

  • Strongly prefer experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Work experience in Preoperative and Postoperative care setting is also strongly preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in preferred.
  • 1 year of experience required; prefer more experience.
