As a general Surgical Technologist, you will be able to contribute to a wide range of surgical operations. You will learn from a variety of procedures including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Neurology Podiatry, Endoscopy and Ear Nose and Throat, each shift will bring variety and excitement to your work. Ascension St. John Broken Arrow’s Surgical facility offers state-of-the-art services and skilled surgeons to meet your unique needs. The Surgical Services department has 8 operating rooms, 2 special procedure rooms and a generous recovery area.

What you will do
In this role, you will facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures within the operating suite.
As a valuable member of the O.R. team, your expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques and your combined knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies are used to facilitate a successful operation.
Our Surgical Technologists are responsible for:
Preparing the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, sterile solutions, the appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
Handing required/requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
Assisting with patient preparation, transportation, positioning and draping.
Maintaining instruments in an organized manner and continuously monitoring/track instruments counts throughout procedures.
No two days are the same for our surgical technologists as each patient and procedure will vary from the next. Surgeries can take twists and turns, which means you’ll need to stay on your toes and be prepared for whatever happens. These high-pressure scenarios make for an exciting daily experience and will keep you on-the-move all day long.
What You Will Need
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree
