What You Will Do

As a Manager of Surgical Services with Saint Thomas West, you will have the opportunity to manage the daily operations of the Main OR: 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops specific departmental goals, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of the following OR Service Lines: Robotics, General, Urology, GYN, Neuro, Spine, Ortho (fractures)
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagement.
  • Continue to foster a changing culture while improving physician office relationships
  • Continue to grow existing OR Service Lines
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations. Maintains systems to assure adequate levels of supplies and necessary equipment.
  • Manages daily surgery schedule maintaining communication with all disciplines involved.
  • Plans and prioritizes day-to-day activities of personnel. Adjust staffing to compensate for emergency situations or schedule changes.
  • Grow and mentor staff throughout their careers. 
  • Daily engagement with staff, leaders, and surgeons

What You Will Need

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
    • *Highly preferred Registered Nurse, RN*

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required. 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
  • *Highly preferred Operating Room Experience, Circulating Experience*
