What You Will Do

As an Associate with Saint Thomas Health Svcs-TN, you will have the opportunity to

Directs the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures which guide and support the provision of services and meets productivity plans.
  • Recommends department's requirements for space, equipment, and financial needs. Participates in the selection of sources for needed services.
  • Prepares budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding.
  • Oversees activities related to staffing including hiring, orienting, evaluating, coaching, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; develops and implements changes required for process improvement.
  • Contribute to Mission effectiveness by promoting the spirit embodied with the Mission Statement: A.   • Being a credible member of the Hospital Leadership team by understanding and organizing operations to provide high quality cost effective services. Modeling leadership and team play at all junctures; providing appropriate advice and council to staff to improve their effectiveness; and representing the vision, strategy and objectives of Saint Thomas Health Services.
  • Communicates clearly and can articulate difficult concepts; appropriately listens, asks questions, and shares information. Involves staffing decision making and resolution of issues. Creates a shared vision with staff and demonstrates the ability to articulate it clearly. Develops, energizes and motivates staff through example, coaching and teaching.
  • Coordinates and integrates services within the department and with other departments to fulfill the hospital strategic plan. Continually assesses and improves departmental operations and maintains appropriate quality control programs. Ensures that department operations comply with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Creates an culture of continuous quality improvement in service delivery and innovation.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Industrial Hygienist. 
    • Law Enforcement. 
    • Safety Professional specializing in Healthcare. 
    • Associate Safety Professional. 

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:

5 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred. 

  • Experience in security, law enforcement, military service or associated field
  • Experience and knowledge of law enforcement
  • Experinece in managing associates
