What You Will Do

As a Practice Area Attorney with Ascension, you will will be advising and working with our hospitals and other providers in areas including but not be limited to: Behavioral Health, Clinical Affiliation, Accreditation Matters, EMTALA, GME, Post-Acute Care, Reimbursement, Medical; Staff and Pharmacy


  • Provides legal advice, support and counsel to the organization's legal function in support of strategic and operational priorities within our clinical and regulatory practice group.
  • Supports, promotes and implements legal initiatives.
  • Advances the implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines supporting the health law practice area.
  • Keeps current with legal developments affecting the health law practice area and incorporates such information into advice, counsel and support for the organization.

What You Will Need


  • Required Credential(s):
    • Attorney obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed


  • Juris Doctorate degree required

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as licensed, practicing attorney required.
  • Experience with clinical and regulatory matters is strongly preferred.
