What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Technologies, you will have the opportunity to direct and oversee demand, resource planning, estimation and capacity planning.

The Director of Demand & Resource Planning works to translate business strategy into IT demand and prioritize projects and initiatives. He/she allocates staff and assesses capacity to reduce delivery issues and increase resource utilization. In addition to identifying and managing demand, the Demand Manager builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, acts as a critical point of contact for stakeholder questions and issues, and helps to ensure that the end product meets the requirements of the stakeholder. The Demand Manager serves as a thought leader for business partners, working to proactively suggest new ways technology can support business needs, defining high level requirements, and set business partner expectations about IT opportunities and limitations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the technological, clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

  • Plans, organizes and directs all operational planning activities, demand forecasting to meet business objectives of productivity and profitability. 

  • Develops operations planning processes, demand resource planning and capacity requirements planning.

  • Manage direct reports for teams of demand planners, analysts, estimation and resource management.

  • Prepares departmental budgets and ensures the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

  • Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

  • Directs and evaluates all departmental activities including research, design and development of new technologies, service level determination and complaint management.

  • Develops partnership with senior management. Works with other senior managers and senior users in strategic technology issues.

  • Collaborates with technology leadership and business leadership in confirming demand requirements and planning.

  • Directs reporting process and leadership KPIs for demand resource planning and capacity.

  • Prepares demand forecasting for annual review and strategic planning.

  • Establishes strategic direction and oversight to ensure that technology resources will be optimized and expenses managed.

  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks

 

Preferred Qualifications

ITIL Certification, Six Sigma, SolarWinds, Service Now or Planview experience

 

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience required.
  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
