This community boasts two neighborhoods on campus: assisted living and skilled nursing, which includes memory care, short and long-term care and rehabilitation in a hospital-like setting. What You Will Do

As a Director of Quality, you will initiate and oversee the development of a comprehensive safety/quality/performance improvement programs.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Assessment

  • Provide strategic oversight for resident safety and quality committee with accountability for distribution of organizational communication within the campus

  • In conjunction with the Medical Director and organizational leadership, you will direct and coordinate safety/quality performance improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure that clinical services are provided in accordance with standards established through state and federal regulations and accreditation standards

  • Monitor compliance of policy and procedure for regulatory compliance, evidence-based care and standards of practice

  • Initiate and oversee the community Safety Event Review team

  • Provide strategic oversight of proactive and reactive resident safety activities including root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis regarding the facilitation of process, planning, implementation and evaluation of effectiveness of process changes

  • Prepare reports and seeks consultation from the subsidiary board regarding resident safety, performance improvement programs and staffing effectiveness and other reports as requested

  • Proactively educate leadership and staff regarding regulatory issues, new statutes/guidelines and safety/quality/QI activities

  • Lead the QAPI process and regularly communicates QI and quality/safety activities to leadership and throughout the community

  • Work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, leading and facilitating, to move the community to new areas of excellence

  • Coordinate the activities of the Patient Safety Organization

  • Analyze and identify trends using the events reporting system. Lead improvement activities to correct any negative trends


Infection Prevention

  • In conjunction with the Medical Director, coordinate infection prevention initiatives

  • Responsible for the community infection control plan

  • Direct and monitor infection control practice to assure all associates follow established policies and procedures


Staff Development

  • Responsible for the implementation of mandatory Ascension Living clinical staff development including being a resource for My Learning

  • Coordinate general nursing orientation

  • Assess clinical staff education needs throughout the organization. (Includes competency checks)

  • Identify resources for education (internal and external to the organization)

  • Responsible for identifying, training and maintaining adequate EMR trainers to support ministry needs

Preferred Credentials

  • Valid license as a Registered Nurse in Missouri

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing


Preferred Education/Experience

  • BSN from an accredited college or university

  • Three years of nursing management experience in senior care 

  • Two years of experience in Quality Improvement

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Senior Living, you will have the opportunity to direct quality management activities and resources.


  • Oversees progress of departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement projects. Reports any difficulties with progress to respective managers.
  • Analyzes patient care information from data sources. identifies real or potential concerns and oversees development of recommendations to correct or prevent concerns.
  • Develops succinct and comprehensive reports detailing quality improvement activities, including periodic reporting of organizational performance data.
  • Oversees adherence to regulatory standards for quality improvement. Acts as a resource for quality improvement information.

What You Will Need

  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Quality Professional. 
    • Risk Management. 
  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred
Work Experience:
  • 5 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
