Join our family of dedicated, highly skilled Surgical Technicians at St. Vincent’s East in Trussville. We work together as a team and care for each other as a family. Our associates are incredibly supportive of each other and are candid in their abilities knowing that they have a team standing behind them.
 
Schedule:
Full-Time Days
Monday – Friday  6:20am – 3:00 pm- 8 hr shifts
Weekend Call and Holiday Call required and stay late rotation

What you will do
As a Surgical Technologist with St. Vincent's East, you will have the opportunity to facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares a surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
  • Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
 
Required Credentials:
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) 
Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
Work Experience:
  • 6 months OR experience preferred- Will consider non-certified candidates, however looking for candidates with Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
